It's a common question that most business owners ask themselves. Sometimes it's easy to pinpoint where the fault is and how to regain a bigger market share, other times not so much. When it comes to sales I would say that it can become the easiest to recognize. I was once told something from an amazing boss I once had. These words changed how I look at things and hopefully can help you as well. She said " Buyers look for two things when shopping for anything. EASE AND PRICE ". At first it didn't hit me. I realized what she said but it didn't hit me. That weekend I went to buy a new truck. And while shopping around obviously I was looking at price tags. and I realized wow I am focused on price, However the dealership that I was at did not for some reason offer In House Financing. Which meant for me I would have to go to my credit union to obtain a loan and obviously we all know that it can be a longer process and sometimes a painful process as well. I accepted defeat and headed towards my credit union. Along the way I saw a shiny new Crew Cab truck that was exactly the same as the other however the sticker price was $1,000 more... I pulled in.

Upon pulling in a salesman met me at the truck, I explained to him that down the road there was a dealership with the same truck for a little less. we negotiated and he offered me the same price. I walked inside, filled out an application, was approved and drove away with the truck I wanted. The dealership had made it so easy for me to get the truck I wanted I didn't have to search any further. The Ease was there. the Price was there. there was no more need for shopping around.

The reason I am writing this is that a lot of dealerships, or equipment sellers are fine letting the customer bring their own financing but what they are missing is that if a customer already knows they need financing, they'll seek out similar equipment that includes in-house financing.
